What NCVTC Does

We actively advocate for the work of the mission of UBE in many ways including:

Annually, we:

  • Work on social justice issues with 2020’s focus being on the census and the elections
  • Host an Absalom Jones celebration event.
  • Work to lift the visibility of UBE and people of the African diaspora so we will be a central part of the Northern California Episcopal Community.
  • Participate in the Regional and National meetings of UBE.

Periodically we:
• Host educational forums on topics of interest to people of African descent such as mental health, Traces of the Trade, etc.
• Provide training and support to candidates in the process of discernment and/or candidacy for ministry.
• Support candidates of the African diaspora pursuing positions and work to secure a voice/seat on bishop search committees in our various dioceses.
